Tuition Fees Guidance
Primary GCSE Level A–Level Special Needs Higher Levels
Cost of lesson £25.00 £30.00 £35.00 £35.00 £38.00
Where students are sharing lessons, the first student pays the full amount and those sharing pay half. The total fee is then divided equally amongst the students so that each one benefits from a discount.
An initial administration fee of £5.00 is charged to each client by the agency.
Online Tuition
Where tuition takes place online
• Parents should arrange to pay the tutor directly by bank transfer before each lesson.
• Tutors will collect the initial administration fee on the agency’s behalf before the first lesson.
• Tutors will inform the agency of any returning clients after any length of break obtained by contact originally made through The History Tutor.
Face-to-Face Tuition
Where tuition takes place in person
• Parents should pay the tutor immediately after the end of each lesson.
• Tutors will collect the initial administration fee on the agency’s behalf after the first lesson.
• Tutors may charge reasonable travelling expenses. These should be agreed with the parent prior to the commencement of tuition.
• Tutors will inform the agency of any returning clients after any length of break obtained by contact originally made through The History Tutor.
Cancellations
• Make a note of your tutor’s telephone number in case you have to contact him/her.
• 24 hours’ notice of cancellation is required of both tutor and client.
• If the required notice is not given the tutor is entitled to charge a cancellation fee.
Procedures
• When The History Tutor receives a call or contact from a parent or student we will contact a suitable tutor.
• The tutor will call the parent or student immediately or as soon as possible to arrange a convenient time to commence lessons.
• Tutors will inform the agency immediately of all arrangements made or the outcome of the call.
• Tutors will keep a copy of all lessons taught on the timesheet provided.
• Timesheets will be completed by tutors and signed by the client at the end of each lesson.
Please Read Carefully
• The History Tutor agency will contact parents and students from time to time to check whether lessons are or have taken place and with what frequency. The History Tutor agency reserves the right to inform the police if it suspects a tutor of dishonesty. If fraud is proved, The History Tutor agency further reserves the right to de-register tutors and inform their referees, current places of employment and current students.
